Job Costing Officer

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a Job Costing Officer to join the finance team. As a Job Costing Officer, you are to support the WA Operations by developing, implementing and using project control and costing systems, including information systems, according to company standards.  In this role you will also: 

  • Prepare and submit claims and invoices, including uploading to customer portals.
  • Liaise with customers to obtain timely variations to purchase orders.
  • Monitor and report on project margins and ensure all sales are captured for month-end reporting.
  • Set up and close jobs in the system in a timely manner.
  • Review and allocate costs to jobs/work orders, including consumables and overheads.
  • Monitor project budgets, analyse variances against actuals, and manage commitments.
  • Review and reconcile Work in Progress (WIP) reports and flag issues for resolution.
  • Support Area Managers and Site Coordinators with project budgets and costing.
  • Ensure project controls comply with company standards and procedures.
  • Prepare variance reports relating to project cost, time, and resources and escalate issues where required.
  • Collect timesheets and enter data into the ERP system accurately and on time

This opportunity will be offered on a permanent full time basis, working 38 hours per week.

Section criteria:

  • Proven data entry accuracy with exceptional attention to detail
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with a strong commitment to quality
  • Previous experience in a similar position, ideally within the mining sector       
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Strong capability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Clear and confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work autonomously and thrive in a fastpaced environment
