This qualification prepares individuals for team leadership and supervisory roles in a wide range of organisational and industry contexts. It introduces you to tools that are essential to grow your level of confidence so that you are an effective communicator to colleagues and other managers. With clear vision and strategic perspective, you will be able to help foster creativity and innovation within your team.

As well as having responsibility for your own performance, you will be capable of providing leadership, guidance and support to others.

Your relationships with colleagues and staff will move towards more meaningful transactions, enabling you to push goals forward and present objectives more clearly.

You will gain a deeper understanding for the dynamics needed to create respectful inclusive work environments and learn how to encourage individuals and teams to do their very best.

Qualification Specifications

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals working as developing and emergingleaders and managers in a range of enterprise and industry contexts.

As well as assuming responsibility for their own performance, individuals at this level provide leadership,guidance and support to others. They also have some responsibility for organising and monitoring the output of their team. They apply solutions to a defined range of predictable and unpredictable problems and analyse and evaluate information from a variety of sources.

Entry Requirements

Candidates must consider the following:

  • Good understanding of English
  • Candidates must have a minimum year 11 Secondary School or equivalent
  • Candidates must be over 18 years of age
  • Must have a valid USI
  • Training and assessment is classroom and/or workplace based, using evidence from the workplace.
  • Candidates must meet the literacy and numeracy benchmarks. Candidates must be able to read, write and speak English proficiently and have adequate skills at a level that enables you to as a minimum:
  • Analyse and evaluate textual information from a range of sources to inform communication processes
  • Plan and prepare workplace documentation for relevant stakeholders according to organisational formats
  • Participate in a variety of spoken exchanges with a range of audiences using structure and language to suit the audience
  • Use analytical processes to identify potential problems and generate solutions

Pathways into the Qualification

This qualification may be accessed by direct entry, or entry may also be gained through BSB30115 Certificate III in Business (not offered by RTT Academy), after completing a minimum of 3 years in the workplace. REMA TIP TOP employees are offered the opportunity to undertake this course as part of their professional development plan.

Pathways from the Qualification

The pathways available to learners who undertake this qualification include the Diploma of Leadership and Managementor a range of other diploma qualifications., (not delivered by WILA)

Modes of Study

Theory Component

  • Trainer led classroom sessions
  • Blended
  • Online (Webinar/Teams)

Practical Component

  • In the work place

Assessment

Assessments will include (but not limited to):

  • Ongoing (formative) assessment in the classroom and on-the-job such as:
  • Direct questioning or conversation
  • Observation of skills
  • Written question/answer
  • Scenarios, role plays
  • Summative component for each unit where Assessor will assess:
  • Project presentation
  • Workplace portfolio of evidence
  • Case studies
  • Third party – supervisor report

Course Duration

  • Between 6 – 12 months for those currently employed in the industry (shorter-duration as it builds on existing skills and knowledge)

Typically, the learning would be completed over 600 – 2400 hours.

Participants may complete the program earlier than these timelines through achievement of RPL or Credit Transfer

Course Structure

Total number of units = 12

 

4 core units:

  • BSBLDR401 Communicate effectively as a workplace leader
  • BSBLDR402 Lead effective workplace relationships
  • BSBLDR403 Lead team effectiveness
  • BSBMGT402 Implement operational plan

 

8 elective units, of which:

  • Elective units have been clustered into streams to accommodate different sections of the business. Units can be changed to meet learning needs of the candidate if the packaging rules have been satisfied.

Course Fees

All fees associated with REMA TIP TOP Industries Pty Ltd employees undertaking this qualification are internal fees only and are included in the employee’s remuneration package and incentives.

For external participants the cost for this training is $5000.

Qualification Issuance

To be eligible to receive the BSB42015 Certificate IV in Leadership and Management issued by Rema Tip Top Academy, participants must successfully complete all core units and elective units as specified in the BSB – Business Services Training Package – Release 4.0.

Participants who do not successfully complete all the requirements for the qualification will be issued with a Statement of Attainment listing those units attained.

Nationally endorsed qualifications, skill sets, and units of competency are recognised and portable across the country—regardless of where they were issued. If you feel that you have previous skill, knowledge or demonstrated competency, and can provide suitable evidence, contact RTT Academy to discuss RPL and/or Credit Transfer.
